There's nothing wrong with the GSA approving a project to refurbish aging plumbing, but there's something a little off about a guy spending $235,000 of taxpayer money to install a new shower, refrigerator, freezer, monogrammed towels, and expensive wood paneling and tile. Good looking out, Interior Secretary Kempthorne. This sort of thing You could buy a house Hell, you could build one

Just the government's way of showing us common folk that we're not actually in an economic crisis, honey. If the big guys on top can spend 200k on some new pipes, well, then the fundamentals of our economy our clearly as strong as ever.

Oh, yeah. Forget about the millions of people struggling to pay their mortgages. Let's focus on getting some new gold plated faucets and toilet paper holders.

Can we singlehandedly bankrupt the American people with our bathroom refurbishing ventures? Why, yes we can, doll.

I really want to know if Kempthorne is going to be a part of Obama's cabinet. It would be a shame if he spent all that money fixing the place up, only to find he has to hand the place over in a few weeks.

I can appreciate a tastefully decorated bathroom, but where is the necessity in that? Color me unimpressed.

Oh, darling. Our aging Republicans have far better things to do with their time than remember which towel is theirs, you know.

Is he sharing that bathroom with other people? I hope he's not taking a page from Larry Craig's book.

If they can't spend six figures on it, you know it's simply not going to get any use in politics.

Among the choice items found in the new bathroom: wainscot wood panels extending from floor to ceiling and cabinet doors revealing a working refrigerator and freezer.

At least it was well-crafted.
